Hey All, I searched this thread but not that much chat regarding 2.7 ceiling heights (unless I searched wrong).

We have 2590m ceiling upstairs and downstairs with square set cornice. Is it worth doing the 2.7 upstairs? I've been told by a few people it's worth the $5k upgrade but not the why it's worth it (other than the obvious).. Does the 15cm make a big difference?

What about for upstairs also? Not sure i can justify the cost for upstairs.

Thanks

Anyone actually done some analysis of whether the signature package is actually worth the extra $$. We didn't do the research but all excited and not realizing how much the price can creep up we went into our first meeting with wisdom sales rep saying "we want the best" and just went with signature. I remember reviewing it not long ago and doesnt seem to be that many extras

We did some, 2 years ago, when we are comparing the Wisdom Homes Manhattan 35 and Metricon Glendale 38.

We calculated the items included in the prestige for both Manhattan and Glendale, cost about between $40k to $45k.

So, make sense to go in one step package.

These are the things on that list we didn’t get included in luxury.

Water purifier
Undermount sink
Soft close drawers
Dropped ceiling
Microwave
Full height tiling to 2 walls
$35 tiling allowance
Laminated laundry unit and benchtop
Endure paint
WIR fit out
25 degree roof pitch
2340x1200 door
Bar handle

Then the raised ceiling and door heights

Like I said, there is value in it but only if you want it all. You can pick and choose and will likely save money.

Has anyone selected the solar panels and Tesla battery storage instead of taking the $15k voucher?

Looks like a good deal but I would hope that you receive a consultation to review your energy needs before having to decide on this.

Agreed - We are doing ours after handover as the largest panels they could do was 6kw which would not generate enough power to use the battery at all.
We are getting 15kw on the roof. A lot of people think if they have a battery it will solve all their bills but you need to have enough panels to make this work properly

It’s really unfortunate as we would have preferred W to do it so it could be roughed in prior to completion for a much nicer look but not to worry.

Hi, we are also looking to go down the Tesla path instead of the $15k voucher, we are building a Washington32, is there someone I can speak with to ascertain what we would require?

I’m sure there would be some sort of consult. You will need to know your average daily KW consumption ( it will be on your bills). Obviously your living in a different house now to the one your building but it’s a starting point.
Thanks Manhattan, I’ll make some enquiries and review past bills...thanks again

Domino throws a bit of blue and that picture is a true black. Domino is my favourite colour and if you put it next to a black you can see how different they are. Are you wanting to change just the colour or the material used? Are your current selections in poly?
Yes the kick boards will be the same as the base cabinets especially if you select a dark colour

We chose Polyurethane base cabinets in Satin Laminex White. Now I just want to amend it to black. But because we already made up our mind that we wanted white at the appointment, we didn't bother looking at the type of black Polyurethanes. I keep thinking now that my white kitchen is going to look really sterile. I was aiming for the clean minimalist look. We have black tapware and the lights above the kitchen island will be the exact same as this pic so we do have some splashes of black here and there. Do you think it's too late to change?

I have an all white kitchen (poly satin classic white with Organic white caesarstone). I absolutely love mine. I too was undecided as we were going to do the burnished wood like in the display home but I was doubtful that I would like it in years to come. My floors are dark bamboo so the white really contrasts nice with it. I think your black tap ware will look stunning with an all white kitchen. I am hoping to change to black taps and black handles on my base cabinets eventually. I also have a charcoal splashback where we don't have the window.
asj1981 - two tone is the trend; ours is white bottom shelves and brushed wood top just like the display with panelling of brushed wood. We also added the black tap and sink! If you want to change, call the kitchen people and ask them to quote both. You can go to a laminex showroom as well if you are unable to secure an appointment with the kitchen people.

We added microwave tower during the quoting process without any issue.

The guys doing my solar got a plan of my roof and have placed them on it to see what fits where and also any issue re shading etc

My roof space is 360m2 so have plenty of room and I’m getting 325w LG panels. I will also be having 3 phase power hence the 15kw
Has anyone considered defining "adverse weather" in the contract.
For example limited to rain days up to roof tiles complete as suggested elsewhere on this site?
Sounds reasonable but interested to know peoples experience in having contract clauses amended.
Hi guys, can someone please shed some light... what does "matching colour laminated under soffits to overhead cabinets" mean?

Does this mean the overhead cabinets reach to the top of the ceiling? ie NO gap between the ceiling and the top of overheads?

TIA!
Soffits is the underside of the cabinets.
Must mean than your overhead cupboards are the same colour underneath as the cupboard doors
