Yes, they did ours in melamine not timber. Wasnt discussed so someone made a decision on that without informing us.

boo thats horrible of them. Is there any way to remove it post handover without damaging the shelves?

Its Big Rivers, Blackbutt. Its not a cheap option but will last a very long time before it needs to be sanded again. Wont swell with water like the laminates, not noisy etc.

Modifications: extended laundry, removed garage entry from hallway to laundry, extended pantry added benchtop inside, replaced cupboards with potdrawers, removed microwave spot replaced with pot drawers, moved the entry linen opening into second bedroom, then the second bedroom linen opening into front room, removed door from study.
