New in Doreen Victoria

Hi all
Just wanted to say hello and am a newbie,have just moved in our brand new home in Laurimar 3 weeks ago,we built with Porter Davis the Kensington 24 which we modified to 28sq,still ironing out some need to be fixed,poor workmanship issues but aside from that am happy(only happy is its fixed).i moved here with my husband and 1 year old son and fell in love after photographing in the area,i have my own photography business and specialise in real estate,commercial,portraits n weddings,i had the honor of doing some updated photos for Delfin in and around Laurimar which hang in the window at the display office.
I would love to meet other mums,families new to area who like walks with the pram,bbqs at the park and just enjoying quality time and quality surrounds..I recently got the pleasure of obtaining a part-time job just up the road at the old 120 year old restored charles turner/mernda bakery cafe on schotters rd,not being biased but they make a mean pie and a good wood fired bread...great place to work,awesome people,gorgeous little gardens to enjoy.
Would love to hear everyones buliding stories,i have a few to air but wont do it publicly...hehe,im a 3rd time builder and still got treated like an idiot...

Welcome to the Forum. I am currently building in Doreen myself. I'm in the Briars off hazel glen rd. What about you?

I love PD homes but couldn't find a suitable home for our block so I was a bit upset, but saying that I love the home we are building as it was exactly everything we were looking for.

i am in the briars just behind the display village in bedervale loop...great locale shame about the dust n mess as we still have construction n tradies here most days,,not loving the 6-7am rude awakenings

Hi Son,

We are currently building in harrisons view opposite the display homes in the briars. You will see our blue dunny from hazel glen drive - its stands out!

We are also building with PD but we are building the newtown 36. I hope PD is resolving all your issues and if you have any tips I should be watching out for could you PM me.

We ducked into the bakery the other week... I can say the pies were AWESOME... however the service was pretty bad It was 2.00pm and we stood there for at least 10 minutes... with at least half a dozen people queuing behind us for take aways and none of us were even acknowledged

We'll wait another month or so then go back... the service hasn't turned us off the great food! Hopefully they're a little more organised by then. 3 people working behind the counter, all working frantically. Just a 'hello, we'll be with you in a minute' would have been great.

Firstly - welcome to the area!! I am across the river in Mernda Villages and just love the area - I've loved the area all my life! (Grew up in Greensborough/Montmorency)
Secondly - the bakery as AWESOME pies!!
