Hi
Our new house has tall windows that have a wind down from the botttom, you turn the leaver and the window opens outwards from. I think they are called awning windows.
similiar to the ones below, but with a handle to turn to open

I really need flyscreens as mosquitos always find me
thanks

We have the same sort of situation. I think they will put them inside instead of external.
Just order them... they are standard fitting on the inside. You need to do this PDQ or you will wait weeks.

the flyscreen sits on the inside of the window in a slot made specifically for the screen :
here's a couple of pics of ours, hope they help :
brilliant - thanks so much everyone
Southies picture just reminded me of something else.
Our awning windows don't have security locks installed.
I assume it is a fairly simple process for updating?
I did a quick google, but don't know what the actual mechanism is called.

Hey Machiars,
You can buy window locks for your awning windows... they are just more expensive than the sliding window ones. What brand are your windows? Contact the manufacturer and they can explain everything you need to know!
Cheers Flagstaff.
Will have a look when I get home later and jump on their website.
