Concrete pour around Gas Meter

Hi All,

Needed some advice.

Got concrete poured around the new build. Problem is the way the concrete is poured around gas meter. The gas meter is now semi-submerged in concrete.
The levels of the ground hasn't helped, and concreter has poured around without giving much thought.

The regulator on gas meter is still exposed to atmosphere, but the metal 'box' of gas meter is some part within the concrete.

The gas meter is connected to authority incoming (yellow pipe), but not yet connected to internal house plumbing pipework, as appliances are not installed yet. So gas connection is not commissioned by the builder's plumber.

House is handed over, but appliances pending. Plumber will be coming at a later date to install and commission the appliances and connect the gas pipework to meter.

The concrete pour is done by external contractor (not builder).

Is this going to be a problem? Will the builder's plumber flag this as an issue or the gas reading guy?

Would appreciate some inputs.

I am yet to pay the concreter in full. One solution I can think of is removing the concrete completely around the gas meter (500mm either side as well),and just put mulch there.

Thanks in advance.

That is pretty poor. The concretor would have known that the meter was going to be in the concrete when he did his set up. He should have spoken to you about it so at least you had an opportunity to make enquiries.
He should have at least blocked out around the meter so it isn't in the concrete.
What step down do you have out of your front door? It's impossible to tell from your photos but the concrete just looks high.
Looks like a dip at the wall. Is there?

Also looks like path is a non compliant height below the DPC. Should be a minimum 75mm.

Water around stormwater drain and concrete

Paving & Concreting

Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know.
