Fibreglass batts are cheaper with a higher r-value per unit thickness. Or one goes with blown-in to deal with irregular shapes.

If your insulation goal is to maximize the r-value within your space and cost constraints, then voila.

Of course cost is also helped by being the dominant insulation type. And like with all products, there can be a self-selection towards historically popular products. (People expect fibreglass, big box hardware stores only stock fibreglass, people aren't confronted by other options)

store's don't stock polyester, it's not going to show.

Hebel Flooring PLUS Insulation or Not?

General Discussion

1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it
