Eco Friendly Heating And Cooling

I just came across this company

Their product makes so much sense (makes you wonder why it's not mandatory in homes!)

Let me know if you have any opinions/comments and if anyone gets them to do a quote. I'd be interested in having it in my new place as I'm quite near a main rd and like the idea of the filtering.

It would certainly work for heating, but I don't see how it would help for cooling. I've often argued, and I think in this forum as well, that, despite what Basix tells us, the ideal roof colour is something dark. Which also looks good I might add. However you need to team this up with ventialtion.

In summer vent the roof so that it's no hotter than outside. In winter, vent the air indoors to help heat the house. This way you get some winter heating without a downside in summer.

Now in summer, why would you grab air from the roof cavity when there is cooler air outside. This is the basis of night time ventilation which works perfectly with high internal thermal mass (eg. internal brick walls).

Casa, they mention that they are grabbing outside cool air and bringin it inside.

It will help - but do not expect it to provide all your heating. It is a supplementary device and some of the adelaide aircond suppliers are including this feature as part of their designs. ie pumping wamed roofspace air intot he house during the day
I'm doing a similar thing in my place with a large flat roof area and making it as a heat bank that I pump into the hosue during the day via temp sensor of - warmer outsdie air in roof space, coleder inside, pump the air over a tromble wall inside , (Large thermal mass) and in summer will use the same solar panel and fan to draw cool air from under the house up through the house and exhaust it out via the same fan.

But nothing in reality beats a well designed thermally efficient house.

I'm just making the best of what I have at this one.
