Evaporative Cooling

We are having evaporative cooling installed in our house while it's being built, rather than ducted air con. Cheaper and, after living in Brisbane for 3.5 years, believe me, even the recent 40 degree heat we had here in Melbourne was far drier than any 30+ day up north!

Anyway, how are people who have evaporative cooling finding it? We aren't going to change our minds, but I would still be interested in knowing how that form of cooling is going for people.

Fiona
PS: we're getting eight points put in
reverse cycle for us

I think its worth the extra $$$
Hi Fiona, it might be better if you perform a search under evap air con in the discussion tools section to read previous threads on this topic.......
Air conditioning is a popular topic has been brought up a number of times before.

Here are some examples from the search:

Hope they help???
Evaps work best in dry areas - Wagga for example. They will cool the temp by 5 deg - which most times is enough. If you have a stinking hot humid day you can,t beat refridgerated tho
