ducting install is expensive?

When I look on prices for Ducted systems, the hardware is up to $5k say for a top model 14kw Actron Advance, but the installers are charging $13K. plus extra on top for room sensors. say $14k. I dont really see how they get to that price, even 2 days at 8 hours a day is $3200 at $200/hour, which is an amazing rate for them.

There is a missing $4k i dont understand. How are these costings ending up so high? is it just a captive audience? no competition?
are you including the air return box, v box, all the spigots, all the ducting, all the zone control motors, safety tray, grilles etc, This can be $500+ per zone.

you’d need to price it all up to see what the labour is. The zone stuff is not hard you can always install it yourself and get someone to do the copper piping. I like the siemens simple push button zone control.
Lifting a large item into a roof space, moving a large item around your property to its location, running copper piping, blow out, vacdown, running electrical wiring and controls, extra gas, specialised tooling for fit up etc, etc.
You can simplify any job to make it sound expensive.
