Shade loving plants?!

Hi,

We’ve got an annoying ditch at the back of our yard which we’re finding impossible to grow any plants. The light is minimal due the trees out the back (pittosporum) and the fence.

There’s we’ve tried boobialla and a jasmine shrub but they just haven’t grown.

I’ve thoguht about perhaps adding planter boxes between the poles but otherwise I’m lost for ideas! Has anyone managed to landscape a similar ditch?

Ferns with a suitable ground cover like baby tears perhaps?

Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly. The flowers smell divine.
