Shade tolerant grass with Blue Couch

Hi there,

I live in Brisbane and have what i believe is Blue Couch in main in our yard (not in best condition). I wish to returf a couple of areas that were overcome with weeds but these areas are also reasonably shady (I suspect around 5 hours of sun per day).

Any suggestions on what sort of turf to lay that would compliment/blend into blue couch? Something that would minimise weeds and be good for kids would be great.

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

Lindsay
We went with sir Walter as it only requires 2hrs of sunlight minimum. We have it everywhere and it's so beautiful and lush.
It is a much wider blade and thicker texture compared to couch but the only option really for shade dominated areas. Maybe check it out at centenary landscapes or bunnings?
Good luck.

I can also vouch for palmetto buffalo which is very close to couch in softness. Does very well in shady areas. Personally I like there mix of both palmetto and couch. Makes for a very soft and luscious turf cover.

I have been recommended to get tropica turf. Any suggestions on that option?

Thanks
