Landscaping comments/advice needed !!
but the photo is what we came up with and hoping for some comments and advice for improvements....
Don't want a lot of garden....but still need some trees here and there I guess.
Thanks.
Where do you live? I'm assuming you want low maintenance shrubs. What is the size of the area you want landscaped?
In South Brisbane. And yes, low maintenance indeed.
what size area for landscaping (plantation if you mean)...I dont really know. Dont want too much but not too little either...would look weird and kids would have no wild life at all~~~
maybe some suggestions of what tree or plants near the porch or at the corner back yard would be great~~
All the best.
I think the layout is ok, but you might find the lack of garden leaves the space feeling a bit sterile. I would try and make the garden beds a bit more interesting and great up all the straight lines, also consider a feature tree or a couple of palms in the corner of the yard to match the space more 3 dimensional. Choose plants that thrive locally (check out your neighbours) and plants that suit the architecture of the house.
All the best.
All the best.
Thanks for the advice. Will look into some trees in the corners of the yard.
Maybe a small fruit tree ......
the back of my house backs onto another BIG property with heaps of big trees behind my fence.....
so it already looks GREEN from my alfresco. Maybe just need to think of something in my front yard.
A bauhinia would be a beautiful feature...but will require watering in summer. The flowers are beautiful too.

beautiful tree.....maybe could go in the front yard.
They are struggling through the winter here and with the more acidic soil, but should pick up soon. . . (I need to regularly add lime as the soil is mostly clay.)

Since it is semitropical it would grow so well in Brizzie.
