backyard & pool help!

hi there!

we have just purchased our first home.. yay! we need to do something to the back yard though. we have a 1 year old daughter and there is no grass, just aggregrate concrete and pebbles that are too hard to walk on, making it a waste of space.

our idea is to put synthetic lawn over the concrete in the backyard and where the pebbles are, put one row of pavers along the grass and leave the rest pebbles along the fence. what would be the best way to do this?

around the pool, we'lll leave the pavers & concrete around the pool but replace the pebbles with grass so there is something to lay on and more room to move as the pebbles are too sharp to walk on.

look forward to any advice and DIY tips as we're now poor!
