Insulation

Hi

I need advice on insulation in an old Queenslander like Home

My house has no insulation whatsoever and I’m located in central west qld so therefore I need it.

I have a manhole which I can get into the roof, but my question is the pink insulation you purchase from a hardware store, do you just lay one layer throughout the roof or do you have to lay multiple layers

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

One layer is fine, but get the highest R-rating you can afford. Most important is to ensure there are no gaps between batts and also the joists, and don’t forget to put some insulation on top of the manhole cover.
