I am having a 'New England' transitional style kitchen... I found this while trawling through the interwebs.
No-one should EVER think that their kitchen will turn out not-so-good. I'm of this vintage, and I remember these kitchens very well , from my early childhood!

This may come as a small shock for those younger folks building or renovating...
For those of my vintage - I can't say if it will be the time-warp effect, the pleasant nostalgia effect, or if I should give you a Trigger Warning!
They are fabulously awful!!!
Aren't they just? That first one looks like a thing out of American Horror Story!
Do a google search... it gets worse!
Oh rental kitchen still looks much the same as the first pic!!! Can't wait for my nice neutral kitchen to be built!!
I love them! Not for me though. In 40 years, people will think same of many of the kitchens and bathrooms on this forum. Especially the bling or unusual tiles. If it's 'on trend' that's absolutely certain.
My nan has a red kitchen with slated wooden pantry door. So so bad
Check out the kitchen on this one... not to mention the rest!
Imagine being trapped underground with this kitchen - Oh! The horror!
The Shining springs to mind...

There's always this.... I cannot imagine any universe where doing this deliberately would be ok...

My parents kitchen is like those. Mum has been wanting to upgrade for years and has never gotten around to it. No drawers, all cupboards. Fake wood grain on chipboard with these plastic red bench tops. The bathroom used to have lime green bench tops and wall paper that had bamboo patterns.

Yet another disaster area!
Were they trying to disguise a murder scene?
Mission accomplished!
Or this delightful gem...
"We don't know
why he suddenly developed this psychosis, doctor!"
Is it bad that I don't mind some of them?
Probably a good thing my gf is in charge of colours and design of the house we are planning to build
No, it's not bad... some are ok... it's just that all these people have a panic about the kitchen and then you see stuff like this, and know you can RELAAAX...
modern ugly, ugly, ugly. I'd be wanting to do autopsies, not cook.
Don't let that virus escape!
I love purple...
but...
can anyone say 'clinically insane', ten times, fast?
