granite benchtop

Ok
Anyone know approx costing for 20mm granite? I'm assuming by the metre.
I know you can only give me a rough idea but I've seen comments here of 350-900. and the 900 sounds like the only costings I've seen elsewhere for the 30mm thickness. I'm assuming the 20 mm thickness would be less.
If you are after a bargain try offcuts.com.au This would suit small areas like vanities fireplace surrounds etc. you will need someone who can edge it for you as well. there's one place i know in melbourne that does this. some dealers also advertise in trading post.
Hope you find what you are after.
good luck
thanks vpande but i was just trying to figure out how far our 4 thousand dollar allowance from the builder would stretch. Just wanted to get a vague idea.
When we had to switch builders hubby said to them that the original builders had offered 10k worth of sweeteners for building with them. What would they offer? They offered us a choice of 2 things. Either a bianco kitchen upgrade or 4k towards upgraded benchtops. At prestart yesterday SC has put it in our plans as 4k kitchen allowance now. which is kind of nice, In case we don't spend it all on the granite ( hahaha! fat chance) Anyway I was trying to get a vague idea of how much extra it is likely to cost us.
wow vpande, that site is great, thanks!!

Does anyone know who can cut it? If I was to buy the bits we need for kitchen and bathroom off that site, can my builder cut and install it? Can they join it?
Yes Fabulous site and great prices. I actually went from here to another site i frequent and I'd posted the same q there and got given the same web site.! how's that for amazing.
As for getting your builder to let you put it in. You'd need to get insurance to cover the item since it wouldn't be covered by them. Also a lot of builders have specialists that cut and fit the items or get it supplied precut. I don't t know that you could supply for them to cut.
got a few answers on whirlpool and one person posted pics of their kitchen and bathroom to show what they had put in. House is still in progress. ( owner builder) Thought I'd repost the pics to here as they are beautiful

Their pricing comment:
"We got a few quotes but ended up paying $7300.00 in total"

For kitchen and 3 vanities.

Nice big kitchen, love the zebras!!

Worth the money for the bench tops they look fantastic!
I like the bar handles...same as our kitchen
yes that kitchen is so lovely it almost makes me want to change my colours.

as for the price. they were/are owner builders so i guess they got it straight from the suppliers rather than as part of their build. absolutely beautiful isn't it.

Holes in mitred edge of stone benchtop

General Discussion

Hi Courtney The mitred edges are glued up with epoxy so those little holes and gaps are areas that weren't filled correctly. Silicone is the wrong product to fill them…
