YAY For bargins!!!

I cant wait to make the ugly lamp pretty!

Do you need to use primer on metal lamp bases at all?

Yes! You can get spray primers for metal, but I'd just use my handy White Knight Grip Lock primer (because I already have some) - it sticks to anything. I've used it on wood, metal and plastic, no probs.

Hi Kek,

You have done some great research into antiques and hands-on, DIY decorating and to top it have posted some great images on the forum. I would like to ask you if we could do a feature article on your build and also feature some of your decorating ideas on our blog? Your insights and ideas will be very useful to other home builders on the look out for inspiration. Let me know what you think. Cheers, Jess.

Congrats Kek - couldn't think of a better house or person to be featured

So - is it going to happen? I'd love to see the article

Thanks bel... I've been swamped with stuff, so I'm still working on it. Mainly, I have to take some photos - I had planned to do it last weekend, but we were out most of it. I should get to it this weekend.
hmmm okay thanks Kek, where can i get some of that from!?

Bunnings will have it. Just find the section with the primers.... or ask someone.
