Just curious - why are some members posts not searchable - ie: through their profile "find all posts by *****" ???

Maybe it's because the topic has been deleted?

I thought it may have been when a topic is locked, but I looked at my "find all posts" and the one I posted today in a topic that was subsequently locked was still visible. So locked ones still hang around.

Perhaps there's nothing worth finding in them?

Some members with a couple of hundred posts will have none show up....????

Thanks all for bringing this to my attention.

After some research we discovered that if a members name is less than three characters:

• 'Find all posts by [member name]' does not yield results; as with
• 'Search by Author'

So after elongating 'Al' to 'Al Bundy' and after clicking the 'Find all posts by' option we were able to see the following:


Unfortunately this is a bug within the forum software, and no fixes were developed for this version of phpBB [third-party software].

If you, or someone you know, has a membership name consisting of less than three (3) character please PM these details to me so - with their prior knowledge - I can arrange to increase it by a character or two for post search-ability.

With respect to 'Al'.....

Al, if you're reading this, I've already changed your username to 'Al Bundy' in the interim. Please PM me if you prefer a different name.
