So my build has said that our job is delayed a week (Again!!! we are about 4 weeks behind) due to wet weather..... However, it is the kitchen install...... does this sound, right?

Could be. Kitchen cabinets are made of particle board or MDF, and unless it is water resistant, you don’t want that getting wet as they move into the house.
