Hi,

I built a house last year and have just noticed a custom builder who has built a house almost identical to my home. From the look of pictures posted on social media the whole living room, dining room, kitchen and butlers pantry, master and en-suite, as well as entry and garage are in similar locations. so basically the same layout. Not to make it more obvious (eyeroll)
I have noticed the exact tiles in bathrooms, stone around fire place, floor boards as well as a very similar looking facade on this house. My question is where can I obtain the floor plan to pass onto my lawyer? I am beyond angry and annoyed as my husband and I put our heart and soul into designing our last house only to have it copied 🤬
Who drew your plans? Are you absolutely sure that you own the copyright?
How would the custom builder have got all the details of your house? You must have published or displayed it it somewhere??

Probably not what you want to hear, but there are many houses that look very similar and are "inspired" by other designs
And they say imitation is the best form of flattery....

Does it diminish your enjoyment of your house in a big way?
If it’s a da they should be on councils website
