VCAT Newbie

Hi All,

Victorian owner affected by townhouse developer and have just received final certificate of conciliation (dispute not resolved) from the relevant body that allows us now to proceed to VCAT. Just wondering if there is a good starting point (forum thread, blogs, other sites or publications) to get advice, avoid pitfalls and prepare one's case without the need for costly legal representation. I am a working professional with a high level of literacy and communication skills so no problem pouring through lots of technical information if required.

Thanks in advance

You will need building defect report in a VCAT compliant format with a professionally prepared cost to rectify defects and you will need to bring your building consultant into VCAT to give expert evidence under oath and be cross examined.
You will need to become your own lawyer and present your case. All the information is out there if you want to do your homework.
Thanks for that.
