Electrical overheard to underground conversion

I am about to place an order with my power wholesaler to do an overherad to underground conversion (needed for my knockdown rebuild)

The existing house has overheard power.

Does this mean that when the conversion is done I will lose power to the existing house, unless I get an electrician to connect to the new underground supply? Or will the old overhead supply continue to work afterwards??
