You can ring up the Asbestos people and they will come round and tell you if it is asbestos - i'm pretty sure that part is free. Then if you need it removed they will give you a price to have it done and can decide what to do from there.
Understand by removing it yourself, if you take it to the tip or something you will need to make them aware as your potentially putting other people at risk.

Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive). Would require a mini…
