Hi there
We are contemplating using a Bondek Slab between the basement and the ground floor
Reason is for the ceiling height, we can't dig any deeper due to the site restrictions
If we use Posi-struts, the ceiling height will be 2.4m and we don't want it this low
I'd like to know if anyone has any idea of the formwork and steel fixing costs to form up this sort of slab
We have a crew that can pour it, or do you know what the going rate would be here in Melbourne for these 2 different types of construction methods
Any help is much appreciated!

I would imagine Sydney rates for Bondek would be similar, typically though for most things Melbourne has been historically a touch lower.
But here we would budget around $500-550/sqm, but you have to consider spans and what is supporting the Bondek in terms of columns and what they are made from ie DINCEL, Brick or steel as well. So that will add to the cost.
All the best with your build
Cheers

This may or not help you but there is a clause in NCC which provides that if there is an existing structure that has performed satisfactorily for a long period of time…
