Timber to concrete glue or screws?

I have a six meter deep storm pit in my backyard. I’m hoping to fix the garden edging sleeper to the edge of the pit. About 1m down. And have about 900mm height above ground. Would you recommend liquid nails or drilling/screwing? Its purpose is to attach a swivel garden hose reel to it.

Or, is there a better option than above. Thanks in advance.

There is a much stronger glue than liquid nails. It's called T Rex and will stick your timber to the concrete.

Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity.
