We used Karndean flooring in a previous house and it was fantastic. We replaced carpet and used the wide timber type boards. Easy to clean and look great.

No offense.. but those universal shower bases look rotten with the tiles being cut 1/2 way.. not a good look in my opinion, I guess that's becasue of the "limited" amount…

Without a doubt I would go tiles. With kids I don't think carpet in my family would stay clean for long. It's also close tot he kitchen so I think tiles would be more practical
