I think a pool needs sun - especially in winter - if you plan to swim - even if you have a heater. You do have to be careful in summer as it can turn the pool into a soup…

i have a robot cleaner for my pool they are fantastic and keep the pool clean. and during winter i have a pool blanket as well. i have also just installed a solar pool heater.
