Agreed, Photo's really help and there are some Photoshop wizzez on here that can add the colours your thinking of to give you an idea.

You could paint the brickwork and morter white. This then appears like the walls are palstered and painted and the brickwork isn't as noticable.
Its a cheaper alternative…
