Thanks Judder, That is disapointing. I have a meeting sometime next week, so we will see what I can arrange. That was my biggest concern, building a double storey and doing all the work after hand over. Hopefully it is not to hard. CH were charging way more than what you were quoted. Had I been quo...

We've recently moved in and now we're experiencing a new issue, the last 1.5 weeks, I have noticed a rather loud, audible THUD/knocking noise against the drainage pipe in the plumbing stack when using the upstairs ensuite which is right above my kitche...

Hi All, Was wondering if anyone can help as I am concerned - we recently built and moved into our new double storey, we opted not to go with the refrigerated cooling and have evaporative systems (standard with package) on the upper floor, however, we're going to put in a split system inverter in our...

Hi, Do builders normally build in weep holes on the wall that forms the zero lot garage wall with the neighbour? We have recently built with the zero lot garage. The entire garage has plasterboard inside and insulation EXCEPT for the wall against the neighbour. I have found weep holes at the FRONT o...

Hi, We have recently built in an established suburb, unfortunately, we've run into a bit of a messy issue and was wondering how to approach a solution: We have built a zero line garage wall against one of our neighbours which on hindsight is a stupid idea and should have left a 100mm or so gap with ...

Hello All, A bit nervous here but we recently spent a fortune on concrete and this matter has me a little irked... Before the concrete was poured, one of my kids had left a few flower head/petals - about 8 of them (about a 9cm diameter size) in the subgrade grid concrete grids. Unfortunately, I was ...

Hi All, Having a bit of a disagreement with the neighbours here with regards to fencing...we've recently built and to get the occupancy certificate, we need a 1.8m fence. We went over for a bit of a chat, and she flatly refused to chip in - fine, we'll have to wear the costs - about $3K of paling fe...

Also, my master ensuite bathroom is located on the ground floor. Is it a building reg to have at least the shower a ducted outlet for the air ventilation? At the moment, we have a fan above the shower and the air is just going to circulate between the joists. I don't see any outlets for it. I know ...

The exhaust fan would have to be Flumed to external air- this would be the builders responsibility.. Sorry could you explain how this works as I'm a complete noob and is this in the rescode? Thanks.

Hi All, Does anyone know where the rangehood vents to? Is it via a tube/pipe to the external vent? I hope so! Also, does anyone who has an internal toilet/bathroom know where it vents to as well? I'm assuming some sort of pipe that goes to an external vent at the side of the house? Talking double st...

Thanks. Unfortunately, this is a double storey so skylights are not an option. I suspect the fan just gets the air out onto the subfloor of the house, would this potentially be an issue for the floorboards upstairs as well?
