I wouldn't be concerned. Trees reputations are not justified. The roots won't go and destroy too much with a habit of 10m or so. That makes it on the smaller side of a medium tree. Very suitable. Tree roots should not be feared. Too understand a tree shouldn't be expected of anyone, but they sure sh...

Try Mulchnet: http://www.mulchnet.com/ You can register and either get it free or pay. Best mulch you can get. Anything else is a compromise. Be part of the solutions to garden problems by using this type of mulch. Pine bark is a reluctant second.

What Trev doesn't write in that guide is to spray in the morning. Add some dish washing liquid or proper surfactant to the spray mix. To always always add Seasol to any weed spray instead of commonly heard alternatives. Should be gone in 2 or 12 sprays :)

Back up a bit people. There are many species of white ants. Most found in gardens are not a threat to homes. Pest controllers will always put the fear of god into people. Scared people spend money. Most white ant species role is as forest floor composters and they have no interest in solid timber st...

All, get as many quotes as possible and see if you get them to deliver. If not start getting quotes for transport on top of the quarry price per tonne.

1. I'd use a bit of sand (in this case) as a top dress, though I would suggest you wait till into the spring before you do it. It all has to settle in and often mowing is enough to ensure things firm up and even out on their own. 2. Not great to pump fertiliser into new lawns (yes there are endless ...

It's certainly going to do the job. You may still require some consultancy in regard to the creeks and retaining walls. Best to work with what you have rather than against it. Many designers can only dream of such features. If you plan on changing the course of the creeks, you will be best to consul...

A very knowledgable colleague has said, "Where is it? WA or elsewhere? First instinct says Malvaceae; but has it got milky sap as in Euphorbiaceae?" She then went on to say, "It would appear to be Euphorbiaceae, Macaranga tanarius, a NSW QLD NT coastal tree with a high weed potential....

The Prunus nigra is a good ornamental alternative (sometimes incorrectly referred to about the urban areas as cherries)

You might be best to look at other options. Even subtropical cherries may not be capable of producing fruit in coming years. Estimates by both BoM and AMOS suggest Perth will be having a similar climate to Moora and Geraldton in 5-10 years. That will see temps out of reach of many low chill varietie...

Oh, I can only suggest you research the size these trees (London Plane) become. There are major issues with them in urban areas. Canningvale is one where damage is occurring from landscape (street trees) specimens. There are specimens in the city that would cover many suburban blocks under their sha...

Good job using the coco peat, it has amazing cation exchange capabilities. Do future top dresses using it too. As for nut grass, look for a herbicide containing "Endothal" it will sort it pretty quick. remember, as I always write, a splash of seasol and a few drops of dishwashing liquid as...

We get them growing on the sides of the roads around the place near me. Stuffed if I can recall what they were. They are a weed. Remove them. True, the mentioned plant they are not.
