I've been looking at this one http://www.bathroomwarehouse.com.au/vanities/balmain_wall_hung_vanity_1200_caesar.html They have quite a few drawer only ones. Not sure how they compare price wise with custom ones.

Hi, I've just come across a dilemma, I need to cut a joist to allow for a toilet, I've just discovered the waste pipe will be directly above it. The joists are at 450mm centres, 225x50mm hardwood Joist spans 5m, sits on a RSJ in the middle of the house one side and a bearer on the external wall. If ...

Good point, that seems easier to work with as well.

@Beetaloo this is what I'm thinking for the partition wall, as they'll be two different floors either side. http://www.renovate.org.nz/assets/Uploads/_resampled/SetWidth696-Fig-3.17.jpg

Thanks Stewie. 1) So 90x45 MGP10 H2 is ok for the blocking? 2) How about adding extra LVL 100x45 joists to the bathroom (so 200 centres) and just putting a pier under the bath? Cheers Alex

Thanks Betaloo. For the partition wall, I thought blocking at 450mm would be ok for the ends of the T&G board? I didn't want the floor to go under the wall. The reason for this is that I don't want to put the floor down in the bathroom until later so the plumbing is easier. Bathroom floor, as I ...

Hi, I'm looking to do two things and would love some advice. Our existing subfloor framing consists of bearers which are 100x75mm, joists are 100x50, with 1780 between bearers and 450 between joists. 1) I'm putting up some internal partitions. Single story, non load bearing and the roof is trussed. ...

The cuts would be exactly the same as when you buy them, most 600x300 tiles are 600x600 tiles cut in half. That aside, I would like some assurance that they are cut properly just in case it's some guy and a manual tile cutter :)

Hi, I've come across a problem where by we've decided on Australian made tiles for the wall and Italian tiles for the floor. The Italian tiles are Atlas Concorde Glow Planet which are 595x296mm. Obviously the Australian tiles are almost perfectly 600x300mm so I want to get these cut down to match in...

Thanks for the replies guys. I just never realised that there could be such a difference in the same size tile. Interestingly the tile with the interesting size is the most expensive at $65p/m. I'd never expected that with a tile of that price. All the various plain white tiles we've seen are around...

Hi guys, My wife has fallen in love with the Atlas Concorde Glow Planet tiles, the issue is they allow for grouting in their sizes. E.g rather than the tile being exactly 600x300mm they are ~596x294mm. We'd like these tiles for the floor and as a feature wall, but the problem is we're after matt whi...

Hiya, well this is taking longer than expected. I'd love some help if anyone knows of a similar brick? These bricks are from 35yrs ago. https://www.dropbox.com/s/kyripf9064vx4es/Photo%208-06-2014%2010%2048%2006.jpg

Thanks for the replies, looks like I'll just try and ensure there's around 200mm. More to reduce the chance of the window breaking from getting hit with a pot.

Hiya, I've been trawling through standards to try and find the minimum distance between the hot plate and the splash back window. The only regulations I can find are all for gas hobs, are there any requirements for induction hobs? Or are these ignored as they don't give off heat? Cheers Alex

Just a quick update. I gave them all a call this morning. H&G are good in that they deliver for free and can deliver on a Saturday morning. I ordered with Bunnings as even with paying for their delivery they were around 10-15% cheaper than both H&G and Warringah timbers.
