Firstly the switchboard location must comply with the electricity regulations of the state. Usually on the front wall of the building or within 1m down the sides. Secondly what has been signed on the plans and in the contract is binding. When the shoe is on the other foot the builder will not budge...

Hi building-expert, Thank you for your reply. Do you think it's too much effort to move now and that we should let it go, or should we continue to stand our ground? I have organised an onsite meeting with our supervisor on Friday to check progress and I want to bring this up again as my last email w...

Hi mate, We anticipate to use it for any future toys, we may even add a concrete part and a roof to keep them off the road and as safe as possible, other than that, it’s nice to have the extra width to get things through if you need to, will be very helpful for the furniture that’s for sure! :)

Hi guys, So we recently noticed that our builder has placed the meter box in the wrong location (not as per our build plans) the meter box was supposed to be installed almost at the front of the wall however they’ve installed it over a metre away from where it’s meant to be placed. We have a nice 3m...

I would check your contract, if they have not stated this fact then that’s on them and they’ll need to install it as per the contract with no additional cost to you.

HI Hilly, You should be asking for those at any time not just now.. some builders will do something for you, others will not, no matter the situation but it never hurts to try.

dga, you must not be following the news or didn't read the OP's post properly. Depending on which state it is, you'll need to check their entry restrictions, I know in QLD (where I'm from) you cannot enter our border. You're best to check the entry requirements, some states have just a quarantine pe...

Hi Michael, If you can hold off I probably would. We’re in the build process now and whilst we haven’t had any issues or delays, the uncertainty is worrying.

Hi Jack, Actually I myself am extremely high risk to a chronic disease thus you can shove your irrelevant comment back where it belongs. I think it's ironic how you've only mentioned Metricon when there are many other businesses still operating, it's obvious you have an issue with them and I feel yo...

Hi mate, I don’t think anyone will be able to give you advice on whether or not they can just decide this as this current economic situation is unprecedented. However, I do not see why they wouldn’t allow you to do a walkthrough by yourselves - the only issue they may bring up or base their reasonin...

If you want to go down that route of “ample time”, so has our government, yet they’ve only just recently put some decisions into place.. once again not an easy decision. Scott specifically mentioned open homes last night as well. May I ask if you’ve personally been affected by a business closure? Do...

Hi Alex, You need to ask GJ. We're building with GJ Garnder on the Gold Coast and they were pretty flexible with most things. Some things they wouldn't allow us to supply (and I had to persuade them) however others it wasn't a problem. In the end, we decided to supply our own appliances and lights. ...
