Hi mate, Why not get a quote to build the same home from the builder and a quote on the land and see if what you read about commissions is true?

Hi Tash, Congratulations on your desire to buy your own land and build. We recently did this and it’s the best thing ever! We were also first time purchasers but the process was super easy. Basically we just contacted the land sales office for the area we liked, found a specific block that we wanted...

how do they fix this now? does basecoat and topcoat stick to the wall? will it have to be roughed up back to basecoat plaster? I’m assuming it’ll need to be sanded back and repainted at the bare minimum. Otherwise, they will probably need to refinish it to a higher finish level. I guess time will t...

Thanks for the replies everyone. Much appreciated and very helpful as usual. It’s a shame that home owners are the only ones who get screwed with subpar work in the end as we pay substantial amounts for these homes.. if the builder wants to screw their trades down I don’t feel like that should be on...

Hi, Are visible plasterboard joins common after painting? We’ve been told by our builder that this is normal. We have majority of white walls with one room having monument walls, the joins are quite visible almost everywhere, especially in the room with the black walls. We personally hate it and do ...

The Alfresco area is approx 4.6m x 3.570m and the courtyard is approx 4.330m x 1.4m. No bigger than what we currently have with no expansion joint.. just unsure of standard practice, it looks horrible and very unusual, especially because they’ve used grey grout yet the tiles are almost white..

Hi, We have a outdoor alfresco and outdoor courtyard area which are both tiled. In both areas, I noticed they grouted the entire area apart from the middle lines, I thought this was odd but let it go as I knew they weren’t finished. Anyway.. almost ready for our PCI and I’ve noticed that both these ...

Actually here’s a photo of the kitchen at night for you so you can see what I mean about the darker colour. Again this is looking from the outside in and the inside of the glass is pretty dirty. https://i.ibb.co/r2RrP8w/F0-ECEBA3-900-F-42-E2-B98-F-C39-D85-B39747.jpg

No problem mate. Yes the lighting does affect it. To give you an idea, I went the evening it was installed to have a look and it looked extremely dark (I was actually really concerned about it) however when I went the next morning it wasn’t too bad at all. Is it what we expected - probably not. We s...

Hi mate, I am personally not a fan of the Hampton style. It's your home, build it to suit you, do not worry about future value, you will find someone who loves your home and will buy it.

Hi mate, Please see photos below. Note: these are taken on the outside. It seems a lot darker than we were anticipating based on the sample, but it could just be because we aren’t looking at it close up. I also do not like how they have sealed our waterfall ends and front cabinetry with white sikafl...

Hi Cooky, Our bench tops went in today and are Oyster.
