Thanks for the replies, now anyone know anything about taps? Gaggenau is certainly a good high quality and reliable brand of appliances. When importing my only concern would be the warranty. What happens if one of the appliances arrives with a fault or damage? Who do you turn to if there is a proble...

Hi, We're currently speaking with a company in Germany to import our Gaggenau appliances. The appliances are approximately 45% of the cost here. I've been trying to look at duty fees online and it appears that we have to pay 5% duty and 10% GST and approximately a $50 fee. Is there anything else we ...

Hi Bels, Yep the newer firmware is supposed to have virtual host settings, mine was running 3.0.8 and didn't have it, so upgraded to the latest version 3.0.10 and it doesn't have it either. I'll look into the port forwarding, thank you. I've got the iVMS-4500 ap but unless I'm doing something wrong ...

It'll be saved to the NVR which can record at full frame rate, but I want to have it stored off site too. Not so worried about the quality here, as it's just for worst case scenario if the NVR is stolen.

To be honest I'm not really sure what I'm doing, still can't get it working correctly :( I thought it'd be easier to connect to the cams externally if they were connected just to the switch, but for some reason I can't connect directly to the cameras at all. At the moment they are connected to the D...

Hi Bels. A few things have changed since my last post :) I haven't opened the Y Cam and will be returning it. I've purchased a Hikvision NVR and 4 turret IP cameras, which are going to be connected to a switch. Got it all yesterday, but having some issues in setting up the cameras to be accessible d...

This is different to a level 5 finish. This is done with one application and is a polished finish no need to sand. @Tim - did you find out of your friend why the multi-finish isn't used out here?

Hi, I've just purchased an IP Camera, specifically a Y Cam Gen 2 1080 HD bullet. When I ordered it I thought it worked with Y Cam's Homemonitor system, which I now know doesn't, I'm in need of a secure way to record the footage. I've looked at services such as MangoCam who let you upload to the clou...

I spoke with Gyprock and they too could only talk about a level 5 finish. For this you need perfectly flat walls before spraying the top coat on, which then needs to be sanded as can't be polished. e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzTD6FKJKOc I really never thought there'd be such big difference...

It's so common back in the UK, that he says it's quicker for him to skim the whole ceiling than to just do the joins.

My brother is a plasterer in the UK and is currently over here on holiday and has offered to skim coat my ceilings for me. As the room is almost 10m long, there are a lot of butt joints as couldn't use long sheets to reduce the butt joints due to entry to the room. He's told me that I'd get a far be...

As the whole house is being rewired I agreed to pay on an hourly basis for work completed. Rather than get numerous quotes every week for little projects. I thought this would be fairer for both parties. For me not having to pay for estimates to include problems they *may* encounter, and for them th...

Hi all, Again I've had another electrician try and rip me off. He's claiming it took him 7hrs to fit my new fuse box, which I know is a lie as I came home early from work (as I was ill) before he claimed to have left my house. How long should it normally take to fit a new fuse box for an average hou...
