I am very sceptical of the ultra sonic repellants - haven't seen any good scientific evidence that they work. Found this site regarding some of the science behind attractants for mozzies: http://www.alcs.ch/mosquito-attractants.html A good read. Not sure if its saying they don't work - or just that...

I'm not sure any of them work that well - but they sure help ... :) I like the look of the solar ones for many pests. They have them for everything - eg snakes - http://www.sureguard.com.au/Solar-Snake-Repellent I'd go for the bigger rather than smaller one - but it may depend on the problem. Do you...

Maybe get a few "experts" to look at it - ie no charge just quote. We had a crack once and it was said to be "harmless" but it didn't look nice. Just filled.

I would have thought a cooling off period would be in the contract. Odd if it wasn't. Whichever state you're in.

We asked out builder to call my home number as primary contact a few months back so my wife could deal with issues as I had a heap of stuff happening at work and did not need or want the extra stress of build issues. They didn't listen and would always call my mobile and unfortunately for me when i...
I can put landline numbers into my mobile ... I don't really get the mobile / mobile only mentality.

Is it to help with ventilation - ie drying etc. I know some have vents in the eaves to help with the whirlygigs in the roof.

I deliberately don't take the mobile with me at times - I find it rude to interupt meetings, discussions with a ringing mobile. But, that's me I guess. Well that's a whole different discussion. I don't think anyone is saying that because the use of mobiles is more common and frequent, that it is OK...

Some of you must have shocking builders - they don't reply to you ??? Still - you get what you pay for I guess ... ;) No .... it is a minor thing - I just couldn't see why one was preferred over the other. Especially when the customer asked.

You need to really have a grip on what you have said and what's meant to be included. Take your papers along to help. Emails especially. Don't be afraid to speak up - ie if they gloss over something - that costs more than you thought. Always ask !!! You should have a fair idea of costs - so no big s...

And if you are real lucky SM, like friends of ours have unfortunately found you can get all three for the price of one neighbour ! We found attracting other birds and disturbing the mynors was the answer. ALSO - not leaving food (dog/cat) outside. They are real scavengers. I know maggies do it too but maggies will help get rid of them. When you see them just keep moving them on - they may find an easier spot to live.

OK - thanks guys. I have a mobile - but if someone asks me to ring their landline I do. Maybe I'm the one out here - ie listening to my customer ... I can't see how there could be a 2 week delay because of a phone call. If I say ring me on this Number and I'm there - then I answer. I deliberat...

We're just planning our yard. I've got ideas on paths and using synthetic grass in spots. But also gardens etc. As its a flat block I want good drainage. Any tips I should keep in mind would be useful - eg I was planning a side path - stone and stepping stones; or stencilled cement with an open drai...

Re 3D vis a vis non-3D - I was told to get the 3D regardless. It was claimed that the 3D had a better quality screen - so as you could use 3D. Prices seemed pretty much the same so I went that way.
