Good luck with the inspection on Friday, kek. I've read through your thread and blog because we will be building a bridgeport too. From what I gather in this forum, sometimes quality just comes down to being lucky with the SS and tradies. I nearly fell off my chair after reading your fencing issue. ...

Our developer has the usual covenants like the corner facade and a setback of several meters from the side str...

We also have the same order of appointments with most of them running through December and January. I agree it is weird that the colour and electical appointment should come before tender but they must have a reason for it. About site costs, since our land will be titled next year PD gave us the opt...

hello, We're building with PD as well and are considering doing the tiles and carpet after handover. Do you guys have suggestions for a good tile/carpet company and possibly an excellent tiler? We will be building at a suburb west of Melbourne. Thanks!

hey grandslam, its good to know that it won't cost me an arm and a leg to have laminated glass all over the house. From what I have researched, Lamguard was created by a company called Pilkington and then Pilkington became Viridian and so Lamguard is now called IntruderGuard :) yep, did my homework

Hello, We're building our first home and really want to have laminated glass on all our windows. Something like the one in the link: http://www.viridianglass.com/Products/intruderguard/default.aspx?ProductType=Specifier It may not be as strong as a steel bars or screen mesh but any self respecting b...

Hi everyone, just wanted to drop by and say hi. My wife and I are building our first home and we are learning a lot from this forum. Specially things that we shouldn't forget like where we want the outside water taps to be placed :)

Hello, Are timber bi-fold doors that sturdy? Is the glass tough enough? It seems to me that it can be easily kicked open and the glass broken. We're building a new home from PD. The promo offer includes a bi-fold door to the alfresco. Appreciate some recommendations from your experiences on how to s...
