roller blinds here too. I wanted something you slide back, but don't like verticals and the panel glides didn't grab me. I really would have liked the vertiglides (I think thats what theyre called) that luxaflex make, but they were waaay too expensive. happy with the roller blinds though :) you can ...

Like kek said, you can put them roof surfaces that don't face north (or north west, or whichever direction is best) and have them angled to still face north. I have a friend whose house faces north, she is very environmentally conscious and is proud to have her panels completely covering the front o...

try it and see? they make the flat paint for the ceilings for some reason to do with the light reflecting up there or something... but I don't know of any reason other than cosmetic that it can't be used on walls too. if you like it you might as well use it. as far as I know we have the same paint i...

agree with Bam. sounds like they are trying to cover up for some poor plasterers. we were never told this. don't suppose you know what the others of the 12 colours are? we have dulux antique white usa on our ceilings and can't see any joins... would be interested to see what Michelle thinks of this.

The other thing to consider - the vendors may decline your subject to sale. +1, also unless the property has been stuck on the market for a long time, at the end of the 60 days the vendor might have a line of other people ready to go with finances? I'm sure you've considered that though. If at the ...

I think what you need is the compaction report - it certifies that each layer of fill was correctly added and compacted (I have no idea of the technical terms). . Again, ignore this advice. I cant be bothered explaining why. Do what I say. BuilderPaul, the OP isn't going to just do what you say wit...

Wow, you're in the worry locker pretty early. BuilderPaul, have you not heard of the old adage, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"? ;)

Hi Cass, I have timber floors laid on battens joined to carpet in my home. I don't have a photo with me at the moment, but the way they have done the join at my place is to chamfer the edge so it is almost like a 'ramp' leading to the carpet. It looks great and you can barely notice the height diff...

I don't know how well you could 'pull' a tile up. They are usually stuck down fairly well the the ground and usually come up in pieces! I thought this too. I don't think the different tiles will look too bad. It might look like it's been re-modelled or whatever, but I don't think that's such a bad ...

when you say the tiles have silicon, what do you mean? is it extra silicon spilled on the tiles that looks messy? if so then the builder sounds like they are being lazy! we have silicon instead of grout on the corners of our tiling in the bathrooms but it is supposed to be there.

me too! I was worried when it started raining on the day of our pour, but the builder was pleased. check out some of the threads in the concreting/paving section, you'll learn a lot about slabs ;)

Our shower's internal space is 71x71cm. I find it a bit poky when I'm washing my hair or shaving my legs but it's not impossible, and although it seems tiny compared to the standard 90x90 I've become quite used to it. We're 'upgrading' to a massive 80x80 - woo hoo, I can't wait! If you go with 80x8...
golly that does sound small! ours is 900x900 and I was going to say I wouldn't want it any smaller.

yep, I bought my pin mixer for our main bathroom from ebay, it came from somewhere in Australia but I think it was made overseas... in any case as others have said as long as you make sure it has the Australian standards watermark on it, your plumber should be ok with installing it.

yes, mine is wood floor nailed and glued to the concrete. as far as I know, it's all fine to have the heavy cabinets & ceasarstone sitting on top of it, it never got raised as an issue and we haven't had any issues with it in over 2 years. I'm not sure how it could be an issue though? the weight...
