You're so organised Charly! Question for you, did you look at the wall mounted TV pre-wiring through PD? We ended up getting this for our theatre room but from what I can see it's basically just a power plug and a big recessed bull nose plate with the HDMI and TV cable already run through it up the...

We went to our land today and it looks like all of our piers are done and we have the pipes for our electrical and plumbing. We had read on Home One that some people had found that they did not have the correct number of piers compared to their plans so we wanted to count them and ensure they were ...

No we didn’t end up getting one for other stages, regrettably now... our shower doors were installed a few weeks ago so thankfully that won’t delay us. This is what he sent me today after I questioned why he was now saying mid to end of March when last week he told me very early March. https://uplo...
Yeah, presumably he figures there is bound to be a bunch of stuff that Darbecca will pick up that may or may not necess...

We are about the same stage and our BC told us today possible end of March!! After telling me last week early March. The only thing that has changed is that he now knows I’m planning to use an independent inspector for PCI. [emoji35] We got told a couple of weeks ago by our SS that they are changin...

We went out to our house yesterday to get a concreting quote, there was a guy installing our wooden flooring which was great to see. It looks like at least some of the taps were in as well and the tiling is presumably completed from what we saw from the outside. From what we had seen previously most...

Have a look at your contract. My contract had a clause in it that said the boundaries may not be exactly as described and there was compensation if the total area of the block fell outside certain parameters. In my case it was +/- 5%. My block was exactly correct so the issue didn't come up. Out of...
+/- 5% seems ridiculously high. On a 400 sqm block that could be about a metre off the width, or almost two metres off ...

My latest blog has been posted, it's called Let there be light. https://forsyth35blog.wordpress.com/2018/02/17/let-there-be-light/ This covers the electrical plans with Porter Davis and Argus Electrical. I have also shared all the electrical pricing I have been given, this includes pricing for unde...

Morning All, I advised our SS that we would be having at independent inspector at PCI and this was the response. [color=#1f497d][size=100]"I will let you know when the pci date will be but before I book in a date you will have to get the your independent through. I must have your independent r...
I think our SS wants the Darbecca inspection before PCI as well, but it's just one day before. That way he can get to w...

PD had a free colourbond promotion on when we were buying which was handy as it was what my wife wanted anyway. Because we're in a BAL area we have sarking and whirly bird as well, so hopefully it all works out ok.

For anyone who is looking at getting electricals for their home, it looks like Samsung and Hisense at least are coming out with their new TV models so the current ones are all going on sale. As an added bonus Harvey Norman give you 10% of the purchase value in gift vouchers if you spend over $250, s...

Looks like the same one I got from http://anewhouse.com.au/sample-page/ . Very detailed checklist. Would you recommend getting the booklet Nikil? I'm assuming it's the Guide to PCI one you are referring to?

In other news I got a quote from darbecca today. Was a lot more expensive than I thought....anyone use them / get further discounts in any way? We got a roughly 10% discount if we got more than one stage inspected, nothing more than that though.

Here's the latest blog with a summary of what Darbecca found today >> https://waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com/2018/02/07/darbeccas-final-inspection/ I have forwarded this to my site supervisor and asked him to let me know how long he anticipates the trades will take to rectify these. Darbecca have...

Did PD make you put the final payment into a trust account from the offset? We're paying cash as well and they made us do that, although admittedly the interest rate is actually far better than what you can get elsewhere anyway. No i just had to supply a letter with my banks letterhead showing i ha...
