Thank you for your comments. I went to uni yesterday morning, came home and it was all done. So irrigation seems to be done and veggie boxes are in. Yes, 2x2m is a bit large. Will struggle to reach the middle. The 2x1m looks better. Oh well, we'll see how we go!

Hi, We are getting our landscaping done this week and we planned on getting a 2x1metre raised bed for herbs and a 2x3m raised bed for vegies. As a novice, I have just heard about companion gardening. Would it be better to have both beds 2x2m rather than one bed and one small? Or doesn't really matte...

Hi, My mum just had holland blinds installed by Victory and they matched the cheaper quote that she had from Kresta. The sales lady from Victory said she's not going to lose the sale so is happy to match. The blinds look great. Cheers

Hi, We have an open plan kitchen, dining, living area and have a predominently white kitchen with a neutral/brown (Dulux's Charlie Horse) splashback. White walls and brown laminate flooring throughout. I was thinking of furnishing and decorating in browns and whites with gold or amber accents (ie pe...

Hi, Our mortgage broker has told us that the bank are after our FHO boost addendum and Principal place of resident paperwork. We haven't heard of these forms and didn't fill them out when we did all our other loan stuff and FHO stuff (a few months ago - we currently have the land mortgage and have s...

We went for a drvie last weekend and saw our land for the first time. We are Stage 8 opposite the wetlands. Those on Urchin Way and Carpenteria have views of the You Yangs and there are plenty of sheep in the fields! It looks great!

Oh great! That sounds promising for stage 8. Hopefully my lot on Urchin Way is doing well - I haven't been out there for ages.

Just wanted to say hi to the other stage 8ers. We are building in stage 8A, so close to a few of you there! Just out of curiosity, how much space do you need to have a lap pool down the side of your house? I think that would be awesome!

Update- We now think we would prefer white window frames on the interior (as opposed to woodland grey), particularly in the open living/kitchen area which include a big entertainer door. But if this is the case then we would need to have white window frames in the facade, right? How would white wind...

Update - The CSR rang me back and said that after consultation with Dulux, they will use the paint that I have specified for an additional $400. However, they want to put a clause in the contract saying that the finish won't look the same as the display house. Also, apparently Dulux said that using ...

Hi, Our tender appt is next Monday. Our builders said they will credit us $7000 for them to do no internal paintwork. But, there is no way that will cover us to get the house painted after handover. And I just realised that our bank won't extend our loan to cover external contractors and will only c...

Hi, I have recently been made aware of VOCs emitting from paint and want to try and get low VOC for the interior of my house. The building company I'm going through uses Dulux and they have told me that the Wash and Wear 101 is part of Dulux's Ecochoice range and low VOC, however the undercoat they ...
