@blacktea2sugars, your garage door looks fantastic 😉 Thank you! How are you going? All good out your way? Any new garden updates I've missed? We are good - although powder room toilet is leaking again! Very frustrated - stage 4 restitutions and we have no downstairs toilet - no one will fix it unti...

yes potentially could hide it amongst plants but not sure we should have to? I mean, we were initially told all fine with pool, then they come out to connect sewer and it's a disaster. A disaster that cost us a lot of #. Now it's all fine with the plans, service locations etc. House is 95% done and...
yes, very annoying when you think everything is sorted and then they tell you there are problems Love the garage door!

I know. So very annoying. Hearing that this type of thing is quite common doesn't make me feel any better. Gasgate continues. They've now offered to cover costs to move it 3.5 m forward. We have spotlit palms going all down that walkway. One bright note this week- garage door is in. Can’t wait to s...

Two updates today, and both NOT GOOD! So, on Monday night out house was broken into. Only found this out from SS at the end of the phone call when he rang about something else! ::angry:: Door from garage into house was jemmied. SS said that every cupboard and drawer was open. Opportunistic thieves?...
Oh no! How awful that someone broke in! I guess it is good that nothing other than the door was damaged or stolen, but ...

Painfully slow at the moment, as fixing stage usually is I hear! Waiting on mixer taps (arrived yesterday) but now need to reschedule plumbers for fit off. Covid plan means they can only be at one site per day, so we are in the queue (next Wed I think) In the meantime, I've been buying cushions onl...
Such a painful stage. So close but so far! New purchases look great!

Hiya again @r_13 Just curious, have you been given a rough completion date yet? your slab pour was the Friday24th April, ours was Monday 27th. I've been pestering SS for a date for handover ….he's just texted late November!!!! As we "appear to be 80-90%" done, this was quite a shock. I'd ...

You should have been told about how the system works but few new home owners are. Connecting to the cisterns is not as effective now as it was when cisterns were single flush 12/12 litre units. If you do cold washes in the washing machine, it is an effective use of yield but the water delivered has...

Ok, so it seems that our tank doesn’t flush the toilets when the mains pressure is off. Our bad. We can definitely hear the pump working when we flush it when mains are on. Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. Obviously we make lousy plumbers!!!

Also check to make sure that the ball/gate valve that supplies the pump is open. This will be hard to believe but one Homeone query several years ago was a similar problem but it turned out that the plumber had fitted the valve to the tank without first drilling out the blank! https://forum.homeone...
Thank you!

Listen for the pump running. Do you have a submersible or external pump? Is there a float? If so, check that the lead is connected to the RainBank. Also check that the float isn't stuck in a low position. The pump has to be plugged into the RainBank and the RainBank plugged into the GPO. Is the pow...

If there is water in the tank, it should use rainwater. If it doesn't, then there is a problem. Yep that is what I am trying to establish. How do I know if the water in the toilet is coming from the tank? Is there an easy way to check?
