I think what annoys me the most is that we were told we had to have everything done before the Tender expired which was end of March. This included that we had to have the site cleared. We busted our guts to get it ready when told to do so. So basically, it's going to be another 2 months after that ...

Just been advised that it will still be around another week before the final set of plans are ready and that it will be around another 20 working days after that before construction will commence. Really hope that they will hurry up a bit with it. We had to rent a place nearby (mainly for the fact I...

Thanks for your response VandM. We ended up going with Woodland grey for the windows. I believe Monument would be similar. We probably will be a bit darker than most houses, but I think it might be offset as we have established gardens and trees, etc., so I think it won't look so drastic. Always dif...

When did you start your build Scott Baulko? Do you estimate it to finish on time?

Yeah Wazza, I think it will still be a while. The day I advised that the house was demolished, the construction manager went to the site (same day). We were advised that we needed to fix the retaining wall, which we have now done. I still haven't received a final set of plans yet though. Constructio...

Old house has been demolished. As we had to remove some of the original retaining wall, we put in another retaining wall over the last weekend. Now waiting to hear back from Allcastle as to the start of the build. I'm hoping there won't be too many delays.

Our draft Electrical Plan came back yesterday. We have requested additional powerpoints and additional lighting. The draft plan also included the supply and installation of a hub and componentry (for TV, internet). This hub is for the NBN. I have advised Allcastle that I don't want the hub as we don...

Also forgot to mention, for those that are demolishing, we had to pay $1200 to disconnect and remove gas services from our property. Demolition people will be disconnecting water and electricity, but it's up to owners to do gas removal. Even though we will have gas at our new home, we are required t...

Most of our stuff has now been moved to the rental property. Just a few bits and pieces to go. Demolition of our old house is scheduled for next week. Hopefully all will go on time.

Thanks for that information Wazza. I finalised the colours last week, so hopefully they will get it done this week. I'll be on top of it.

Hi Wazza. We've done our external and internal colours. We did the electrical plan, but I was told that would come back to us again for final review once the external and internal colours were finalised.

We are fortunate to be renting so close to our existing house (to be built). Rent is extremely expensive, so hopefully we won't be there too long. We got a house that's only around the corner (about a 2 minute walk). Should be good. That way we can keep a really good eye on it.

They have reduced the price a little on the island bench. I still think it is too much, but I suppose it's better than nothing. Our current house is due to be demolished on Monday 14 March, so hopefully the site will be ready by the end of that week.

Thanks Wazza, yeah I think 3 piece powder room and additional bedroom were the only things that showed as optional. I'm still waiting on a response about the price and whether they have made a mistake.

, our cost was a standard option for extending the 2400mm bench, and that is what it looks like you have been charged[/quote] Hi Wazza, when you say that you cost was a standard option, what did you mean? Did you get an additional price list for other options. I hadn't received or had been advised o...

it sounds wrong alright. I've also received advice from other people saying the same thing. They know it's only 1400mm long. What annoys me is that the stone sheet is already 1.5 x 3m, so it's basically cut to size.

Hi Wazza, I also got a quote to install cupboards which came to $2,580. I can understand installing cupboards actually does cost a lot due to more labour. I don't really care about having cupboards so the other option was to do it without them. So basically I am just extending the cabinet to 300mm d...
