My deal is: 5% management fee (+10% GST, therefore 5.5%) $0.50 per statement (+10% GST, therefore $0.55) The second item is the postage to mail out the statement each month. I think it's a good deal, but certainly achievable. Can't remember how much for a new tenant, but half a weeks rent comes to m...

Ray, Remember the 240V would give more light when you consider the entire system – light + any necessary transformer. It still comes down to a 50W light regardless of voltage using the same technology (LED, halogen or CFL) would have the same light output. If you want energy efficiency, look into th...

crunk81us, Yes, a problem in your maths. Suncube = 240 W Standard panel = simultaneously 120 W (correct) and 2400 W (incorrect) So basically the Suncube puts out twice the peak power. The real beauty however is that since the Suncube tracks the sun, it's output remains fairly high day long. The flat...

Ray, Your questions bring up a whole bunch of issues. 1) When looking at the light on a bench below, you need to know the angle of the light beam. A narrow light beam of lower wattage may be brighter than a wide light beam of a higher wattage when looking directly below it. So make sure the beam wid...

cobylee, From http://www.neco.com.au (located in Sydney, but mail order possible), we have a price of $22.95 for the 11 Watt GU10. So it looks like you can do better than $32.95. Cheers, Casa

dexxl, Can't answer your question, but I'm intrigued. Why do you need to renovate and why is there a month deadline? Cheers, Casa

Bud, Isn't it sad that you paid a Basix consultant and then still had to do the work yourself. Worse still, the Basix consultant you paid for gave you bad information (or is trying to sell you a water tank!) Cheers, Casa

devank, I will need a water pump (or fan if you want to use air) to circulate the water between the roof and the floor slab. This pump will be required to push the water against the thermosiphoning action during winter days. During summer nights thermosiphoning means that I just let the water natura...

commodorenut, Your experiment on different colour metals is interesting. However, I think it may not well represent the actual situation. A roof has one side that heats up from solar radiation, but the other side is not ventilated (the roof to ceiling space). Therefore a roof will get hotter than a ...

My personal understanding is: 1) For a house you pay 10% GST on everything (but once only, if you know what I mean). 2) Any price that is quoted, for anything, must be inclusive of GST unless it specifically says otherwise. This website may help: http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/256...

Dobly, I think you're on a winner. I've checked the web site and your peak power output is 600 Watts. At $1200 this is a great price ($4 per Watt, compared to normal solar panels costing $8 to $10 per Watt). In fact, when you think about it (and if my thinking is correct), SunCube will cost you noth...

jamiet, It's a small world. The person that sits next to me at work has built and is living in Beaumont Hills and I work at Bella Vista. The houses at Bella Vista Waters are certainly very nice. Will put Gremmo Homes on my interview list. Thanks again for your feedback. Cheers, Casa

Montbrehain, I've since discovered that if you want to put pictures in, there are a couple of steps to take. 1) Put your pictures onto one of the many free picture hosting websites, such as ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.com). 2) Use the BBCode for attaching the image. Instructions are given on t...

Vpand, Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, but my account was deactivated without warning or reason. I’m back as Casa2. With a little planning I don’t think it makes a big difference whether you install photovoltaic solar cells now or later. Try to make your north facing roof slope the righ...
