Our kitchen. Such a lovely kitchen! They all work together perfectly. Is it difficult to maintain a white kitchen most especially the cabinetry?
Nope just give it a wipe. No different to any other colour and shows less marks than a dark colour.
Thank you.

I think a roof will certainly make it look better and more usable when you do need to use it. Plenty of cost-effective roofing options. Thank you. We are now thinking to include the roof in the balcony, and yes will make it look better. Also even if we don't use it often, I think it will prevent to...

Is the ducted reverse cycle include heating and cooling and both uses electricity? Does it heat the house effectively? We have ducted gas heating and it does warm the house effectively. In our second build, we are thinking to go for electric ducted heating and cooling. We are in the process of build...

If you found you wanted protection you could perhaps use one of those wind out awnings, some of them actually look quite good these days. the beauty of that is that you can have the best of both worlds depending on weather etc. Thanks. The balcony is very small, i doubt you would use it at all, unless you have a view? Yes, it's a small area but there is view. Near the park and a good view of the mountain from afar. We will probably use it once in a while during summer and spring and probably a good place to watch sunrise and suns...

Hi there, Is it more beneficial to have roof over the balcony and is it worth it? I am really confused whether we should have a roof over the balcony or not. The cost to have the roof over balcony is approximately $4200. The size of the balcony is 2.7m length x 1.65m depth. It is located at the fron...

Each neighbour receives an equal benefit from the fence and therefore should contribute equally to the costs. Ask your council or Estate if they have a copy of the covenant and show it to your neighbour. Let them pay the 50% share. I wonder why some people try to deny their share with the cost.

Apologies for posting in the old thread but I have a question in similar topic so just using this thread instead of creating a new one. We haven't had our electrical appointment yet but wanting to be ready. We are building a double storey 52 square and by just marking the number of LED downlights on...

I think just trying to avoid something that can happen and you end up with regrets. In my parents house our garage wall got damage as well as the plaster wall inside the garage. We didn't know until my dad has called someone to check and we found big drills on the wall. Apparently, the neighbour use...

We have 200mm gap too between our garage wall and the boundary but it was our request with our builder as we want to have fence in between. Our neighbour has completed their build before us but we have previously mentioned that we will have fence in between. I had a feeling that they like to take th...

The one on the right has the advantage that the door doesn't face the bed, so if one person gets up during the night, less disturbance (light and noise) for the person in bed. You also gain an extra usable wall in the bedroom without a door and don't have the WC backing onto the bedroom wall (could...
Thank you so much. That makes perfect sense. I'll go with the second photo (the one on the right).

Hi there, I like both layouts however I'm thinking to change to the second image below. Please advise your thoughts. With the wall niche in the free standing bath, in the first photo it will be placed over the tap. In the second photo, as we've changed to a larger window I'm unsure where to place th...

In our next build, we will have it in the centre. See image below. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/85195_1564442074.jpg If you like it installed on the side, you can have something like this. https://forum.homeone.com.au/u/85195_1564442081.jpg

We have double doors in our current home and yes, we seldom use the other door. It is very useful though when transporting larger items inside. In my opinion, I'd go with large single door. In our next build, we chose to have 1200mm pivot door. I always love the look of double doors, but I think lar...

Thank you both. Seems like not a really huge amount so I like to consider this option to extend. I was worried to ask the builder as I was thinking the cost might be over the ceiling but now I have a good idea so I'm more keen to go ahead.

Hi everyone, I'm in the stage of finalising the drawings and still need to make a few changes. It is subject to variation fee so I'm thinking to include all the changes that I needed / wanted. I haven't asked my builder yet but any idea how much it will cost to extend a room size in a ground floor l...

In my own experience, the process is quicker with a broker and most of them have contacts inside the bank. We previously applied for a loan directly with the bank but took them weeks and then came back with an approved lower amount. We then contacted a broker that only took less than a week with the...
