Quick update. Site scrape was done late yesterday. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/31/9b317bb3610ae84a9785e2f75ffb29d3.jpg I also checked out the other two projects Mark is working on in the area. They are both about the same stage. At least we are moving forward at the same rate :)

Hi fiz. A good friend is just finishing building with metricon in ryde. He was actually lucky that they had to go through a DA as the storm water design was flawed. This forced metricon to revise the plans. Silver lining. Think of the DA process as an expert review :). However, that said, I believe ...

Abe, I dropped a thank you message on his mobile. He replied saying if the contractors let him know tomorrow then he'll let me know. How awesome. I'm sure he's earned a day off, but he's still onto it.

Mark has been a busy boy late this week. It's quite funny getting excited about such trivial things. Site fencing. We have been quoted a 9 month build time for our double storey so it seems to be like they under quoted you build time in the beginning which is annoying. Also you would have a lost a couple of weeks over Christmas/New Year. Generally our experience so far with them has been good. Their pre constru...

Hi Abe. I spoke to him today about that exactly. 16 is crazy isn't it. I know 3 in my area that he is working on. 3 alone are at frame stage and he's still waiting for the brickies. I really like him. He's straight up, no b.s.. I don't see the point in hollow promises, so I'm glad he's somewhat blun...

Well, it's been a while since hearing our site supervisor was assigned. Good news, the plans have now been handed over. The site peg out, fencing and sediment fencing will be starting next week. At this stage, we are expecting a complete slab within the next three weeks. So happy to hear things are ...

I called him to introduce myself on Monday. He doesn't yet have the plans so he wasn't really in a position to talk much. He's at hq today to discuss the job in his fortnightly meeting. You'd think nowadays they have a thing called email. Maybe he wants A3 :)

Bring on tesla's awesome battery storage for in homes. I'll bet it becomes a fashionable item in future. Yes, it's not yet available, but its size and potential to be extremely popular will drive down costs. Very cool http://www.teslamotors.com/en_AU/powerwall

That's a big system. Did you strike a deal on a zero interest loan? lock in grid feed rate and X year pay off? It's an interesting concept until the feds cut the rebate

Yes. We had the envy listed on the contract but the a.c. Unit model wasn't listed in the tender contract. I had to convince three people to confirm. Luckily the estimators confirmed today the daikin 20kw premium inverter model. Phew

Hi Abe. I had a similar shock this week that our air conditioning system wasn't specified. We had discussed the zones and that was it. I couldn't find the zone areas in the paperwork, and I had no idea about the model numbers for the system. Strangely, every other appliance and electrical item is sp...

Go with your gut. Read up about your contractors. Google them and search in this forum. If you know someone who has worked with them, you can't go past that advice. Demolition companies can be a daunting choice. Just make sure you have a little extra for surprises. Lastly .. Don't assume rawson's qu...
