Depends on what look you like. We don't have bulkheads over the kitchen, just the same ceiling going from lounge to kitchen.

Now I have frameless showers creens installed, with silicon down the sides between the glass and wall, it would have been better to have inset channels in the wall before the tiles went in. I havev2 big steel beams under part of my skillion roof that spans the lounge room. It's engineered for a 2nd story. So it's possible. Best get a structural engineer out to have a look.

What do people value there? Here a new bathroom and kitchen go a long way but you can also do your dough in the wet areas.

I just did 2 white undercoats and 1 top coat in my laundry. Changed broom beige walls to white undercoat. it was a bit patchy so did another white undercoat. Then it was much more consistent. So I found 1 white topcoat to be enough for a laundry. That and I'm not sure there's quite enough for a 2 nd...

not paying doesn't really solve anything but $. im not inclined to get them to resand given it takes life out of the floor, and we are moving in mid dec with a whole heap of other things to do to get it ready for occupation. maybe a discount is in order and ill live with it for a decade or so.

It's annoying after I've insisted in low voc paints for the walls. I did cave into oil based gloss paint for skirtings though. Just wish I'd been more attentive and micro managing till the last. :(

A word of caution to the noobs. I was starting to relax a bit and not trying to ask so many questions of tradesmen in the hope that they knew what they were doing. When I ordered my new hardwood floor i was specific in asking for water based low voc poly. Floor sander arrived this morning at 630ish....

Gave up sanding old skirtings. Bought new ones and painted them with first coat today. Floor sanding 5th, carpets 12th. Painting mostly done. So much more to do though. :(
