My main criteria is 12.5 m frontage lot, but would like to get idea of how much 300sqm would be. Do you prefer 300SQM? Please advise 300sm...where's the second car, the trailer, the boat going to go?

T, don't fuss in the slightest about this electronics stuff. It's all changing so quickly that what is superbly desirable today will be WTF? tomorrow. :-) So long as the telly and the computer works OK, you'll be fine.

With building approvals sliding away it's essential to try and get some idea of your chosen builder's financial stability. Blooming hard to do but they are quick enough to want to evaluate the client's financial resource. Risk works two-way.

Hi Huhness Dropped into your blog and, to my delight, saw that your build is in Illawong. Mate, you guys have chosen just the best Sydney suburbs to live in. We've just moved on after 30 years of living there - to build our last home on acerage - and enjoyed every moment of living in 2234. The locat...

A year down the track, and looking at your magnificent handiwork, you won't be able to tell that the ma...

Hi Cooky, glad you have seen that liveable housing resource. What we found interesting - planning a home for our later, creaky, years - was that the approaches and inclusions recommended in that document invariably led to a better house overall. Simple ideas like space around the wc, slightly wider ...

Not so much wished I had done but more "glad I developed an understanding" relative to the role of the saes process of the project builder. Reading Seek confirms the frequently commission only nature of the Sales Consultant job in the project home industry coupled with advertisers' claims ...

Don't sweat about this choice of really basic building material sort of stuff, the houses are designed not to fall down, in fact they are designed today a little bit stronger than five years or so ago. It's a bit like going to the dentist and worrying about what brand of filling-material they are us...

Water tank was $7430 in PC - now $7800 I would love to see the specs on that installation!!!   Is it an underground tank? Rip offs in this area are common, I have seen similar prices before but none were justified. Unfortunately, nearly all of the installs that I see are overp...
