Hi All we are almost at building contract signing stage with M for our KDR, and for many reasons we have been bitterly disappointed with our experience to date and we fear our build experience will be just as bad. We are about to pull out. Just wondering if anyone has pulled our just before contrac...
Don't pull out, just get a good independent building inspector for all of the stage inspections.

The thing is that non compliance can be worked around by the builder with a letter from an engineer or other qualified professionals. Non compliance doesn't mean wrong, it just means another way to do it. Just insist on it being built to comply and you can't really go wrong. In some instances yes b...

Unfortunately to get the house that we all want, we have no choice but to use the volume builders. And they all use waffle pods. I'm using small custom builder and they do both raft and waffle slab. My mentality was if waffle is good enough for volume builders building 1 million+ dollars house sure...

Hi, I have a 3yo home and yesterday morning (no wind) heard a very loud noise from the roof to find a section of row tiles have slipped. I understand according to the building code only every second row has to be nailed or clipped. I didn't find any nails but saw some clips like this on the tops of...

They will simply tell you that you haven't maintained drainage under your slab properly, so it is all your fault. :( If you have, they piers should be have been connected to your footings with reinforcement and as far as I know, they ...

Try g+p builder's I have attached G and P QBCC Licence screenshot, which shows 8 demerit points: "8 18 Dec 2017 Breach of s.51B(2) QBCC Act, licensing contractor contracting with unlicensed person" That's why I like Metricon, they have NO demerit points yet they build 100s of homes a year...

If it is not then your private building inspector (NOT surveyor) will tell you and this is the proof you need to get it fixed before handover. If the building is to code then you need to find a new insuranc...
