I'd check with Council to see whether it's even possible under the Development controls for your area to do what you wish. Put it in *writing* and address it to the General Manager..ask for a reply in writing. Council will probably direct you to its DCP (development control plan) which will probably...

There is a fantastic product made by 3M which is a security film, applied in the same way window tinting is applied to cars. It's available in a number of finishes from clear to frosted. If y...

Seriously...I think $10K is fine. There is a top-end audio-visual store in Sydney's northern suburbs that has been awarded for its work on jobs over $300K!! Have a look at this link and see what some people are spending: http://www.gadgetguy.com.au/electronic-interiors-article-8809-1.html (The compa...

Hi Bubblepop, Sorry to take soooo long getting back to you. It's been ages since I even looked at my own thread since nothing is happening on the site! The mortar colour is off-white and there are packets of it still laying around the site but I don't know the brand. The render colour is Taubman's 1...

However, although the bricking is finished we are several weeks away from having the Matrix installed so I don't yet have any pics for you :-( We are using PGH Blue Steel Flash bricks which is a very contemporary looking product ...

I won the bet. No sign of the contracter (who'd already told the builder the guttering and fascia was completed). I have one thing to say: Liar, liar pants on fire!! Hopefully he'll turn up next week. If not, it will undoubtedly lead to more delays with the roof cos those guys are booked in fo...

I may not have made myself very clear. Sorry.. hehe I actually meant compact fluorescent downlights. The fitting itself looks ostensibly the same as any other downlight (halogen, LED) just the light source is different. Are they what you have RealEstate? Has anyone had any success with compact fluor...

Well the guttering and fascia was moved onto the site last Xmas Eve at least but of course it's not finished and I didn't think it would be. I live in the real world and didn't for a moment think it would all get done *after* midday on Xmas eve, despite what the SS said to me...and I quote: "It...

Hi & great thread btw :-) I'd love to know what you think of compact fluorescents compared against LED's and halogen downlights? The reason I ask is because these are DH's preferred choice but the two we've trialled are not very good to say the least imho. Thoughts please.... Pix

Threatening to walk is a good tip. If their poor performance continues, perhaps threaten to get the ACCC involved. I'm not sure what the ACCC could really do but the Office of Fair Trading may be of some help (but then again based on my recent experience with them the staff at the coalface often do...
