I'd also take the seperated toilet and put it beside the bathroom, ie down the hall towards the bedrooms, but the toilete is on the left, next door on the left is the bedroom, and opposite this is the door to other bedroom....Also - I'm not a big fan of toilets at the end of hallways. Me too. I hav...

They'll just replace the broken studs, don't sweat it. Thats it. Dont worry mate, it happens all the time. Although it does look like a good job they've done on it, the capenters will fix it properly as they are standing the frames. It'll take them 10 mins to fix Even if the frames were not broken ...

wow! Try to get a few more quotes- have you tried Rolling stone landscapers in Sydney? Ha Ha Ha, Good luck with that. You wont get Rolling stone Landscapes to even talk to you on the phone for anything under $100k and even that you'd be pretty lucky. Dean Herald ( The owner of Rolling Stone Landsca...

When we built with Eden Brae (PD's NSW division) we had to have written approval from the bank stating that 'funds were now available for drawing down' and I'm pretty sure we had to have the builders name noted on there. From memory we needed this before construction would commence. ie after council...

My concern is that we are not permitted on site without the site supervisor. I'm sure he'll notice the screws won't he ? Then .....trouble. We were told the same thing But I couldnt tell you how many times we went on site, At least once a weeks if not more as we lived 1 km away. At one stage I aske...

As far as I'm aware you only need a plumber if you dont already have a water outlet near your fridge. Its like connectinig up a d/washer or washing machine. Companies always recommend you get a licensed tradie to install their products but who really does. Go overboard with the silicon tape and you ...

They actually glue the boards down and the nails are just to keep the board down until the glue dries. Saying that I went around on a saturday arvo during construction armed with 2 battery drills and 200 x 50mm screws and went nuts. I've been thru that many homes that have squeaky top floors I wante...

Was told several years ago, that the tariff for instantaneous systems is a lot higher that storage systems ie bills are higher. Any comments on this ? Totally disagree. In our last home we upgraded from a gas storage system to a instaneous gas system and our gas bills instantly dropped by 50%. Us t...

Firstly you need H4 for a retaining wall not H3. Correct I only found that out when reading thru the website that CM posted up. For anyone interested 'What does H2, H3, H4... Mean?' That $11.90 price from Bunnings is for a 200x50x2.4m sleeper, not a 200x75 Right again! My mistake, It is the 200x50 ...

But the quote from the builder is $ 1950 for the connection and setup. Is this reasonable? *Expecting to pay more for a few allowance (such as wall basin, han...

smeagol, I think what you also need to aware is, most of the times, builders will cross out/change some of the standard clauses and add their owns ones at the back. Those are the ones you need to pay special attention to... All these changes 'should' be noted in the front of the contract so they ar...
