Hi Humble We are in a similar situation too. We have contract tomorrow but won’t be signing until we get what we want as there have been a few issues. 1. PD won’t give us a niche in our ensuite shower due to the fact we have a brick wall behind the shower. But we know it can be done by bringing out...

Oh and we thought they were pretty cheap too. Cost us about $1,400 for a 41sq double storey (Henley). That aint half bad in my books

I've got Buckwheat bricks and love them. Also like them because there are hardly any houses with them :) Look a lot better on the house than on that small wall too!

In my case, it's when we can afford the time and money and weather permitting! We moved in about 20 months ago and still don't have a driveway. We want to do the front brick fence first, then fit the driveway snuggly around it, but we have to go through Council for approval (more money), and findin...
Can relate to that. If you showed me two identical items with no price tag, odds are I'd like the expensive one As ment...

Maybe even a carpet warehouse/distributers. They're bound to have offcuts and stuff they'd be able to give you on the cheap

We've got 3 full wall height windows in our WIR (ours is on the front of the house). Doesn't really bother me though. I like the light it lets in and frankly I don't care if the neighbours see me naked. If they're going to peek in my windows they deserve what they get :)

Can also go to Bunnings and buy a few pine sleepers. They're only $10 off memory and are a decent enough length. Maybe buy 5? Dunno you'd have to check lengths. Also works both ways because you can then use it around the house whenn you're done :)

Congrats :) It's amazing how quickly they pop up the frame. We had the same thing with ours. I had a site meeting with my SS on the day they started doing the frame and when I came back later that day they'd done all of the first floor! Off memory, with ours they did the first floor, did the joists ...

Yep we did. Ours is called Pride Rock (As in Lion King). It's more an in joke than anything though. If I was single, I'd totally call my house "The Fortress Of Solitude" hehe

I'm a big fan of the Illoura. We were going to build it before we went for a double storey. Know what you mean about the narrower entryway, although I don't think it was as bad in the 36 model off memory. I think our biggest issue with it was the size of the main bathroom, but we figured we wouldn't...

I actually quite like those ones (I'm not a lover of plantations). They're one of the few I've seen that don't look... obtrusive. They look a lot more like they belong there. Tis noice :) ... btw have you seriously been there 11 months already? :O

One very hint that I have learnt from our experience is that if you are even 'thinking' of upgrading your tiles go to the tile provider and scope out costs of tile and labor. You can save yourself a fortune (probably 30-40%+ by going outside ie..our tiles in total ending costing 20k including labor...
In relation to this point, we did this for our carpet (or are doing) and while we are saving a fair bit of money (and g...

Do they say anything about making a hedge fence? Ash and I were talking about that the other day. Obviously a different estate, but we've got the same rules about fences over here
